Savage Travel Baseball Mission - To develop the baseball skills with sound fundamentals for the more serious and dedicated young athlete in our community through high level of practice while participating in competitive leagues and tournaments.
Travel baseball in Savage is intended for the young player serious about improving their baseball skills by playing at a more competitive level by dedicating the time and effort required for improvement. During the season it is typically a commitment of 4 days out of the week for practice and games. The focus is on fun and for love of the game of baseball, along with proper skill building it is easily a 9-month time commitment out of the year for players. Travel baseball will require time and effort dedicated by the players on their own to develope away from the team and coaches.
Our new season starts in late July and August with tryouts for all teams. We typically play a lighter schedule in the fall to allow for our players to participate in other sports. We offer winter workouts at the discretion of each coach to allow each player to work on individual skills. Our heavy schedule starts in March with pre-season workouts followed by league and tournament play from April through July.
League games are played against travel teams from other organizations around central Maryland. Our teams also compete in many local and regional tournaments, annually play at Cooperstown Dreams Park and have also competed at the Cal Ripken Academy at Myrtle Beach, Cedar Point Ohio, and Ripken Park in Aberdeen.
